Disease Specific Task Forces
One of the main focuses in FinnGen 3 is to deepen our understanding of the genetic factors contributing to disease trajectories. This work is carried out by disease specific task forces.
To study disease activity and progression, we will leverage genetics and other omics profiling to establish a robust evidence based aimed at: a) understand which genetically identified targets may be suitable for halting or slowing disease progression, b) guide the administration of personalized medication, c) improve treatment responses in treatment resistant patients, or d) prevent secondary events in specific patient groups.
The Task Forces that were launched in the spring of 2023 are listed below. Evaluation on the plans is ongoing. Core efforts will be invested in a selected sub-set (in bold). The rest will continue as interest groups, led by partner efforts.
The Task Force's documents and related material can be found in the FinnGen Teams Group.
