Description
The register is maintained by the Finnish Federation of Visually Impaired. The aim of the register is to serve as a basis for preventive measures and treatment of visual impairment, as well as for planning rehabilitation and other special services for persons with visual impairments. In addition, the register provides research material on ophthalmological diseases.
The data includes population distribution and epidemiology of visual impairments since 1983. It contains diagnoses related to visual impairment and measurements from both eyes.
