The 1-year “Exclusivity Period” Policy

According to the FinnGen Consortium Agreement, FinnGen analysis results are subjected to a one year embargo or “exclusivity period,” and only after that can be made available to the larger scientific community.

The exclusivity period is defined as the period of 12 months after each published Data Freeze.

During the one-year embargo period, the analysis results are available only to FinnGen Partner organizations.

These analysis results may be published as a part of a manuscript / abstract / poster, but the FinnGen Scientific Committee must first approve the release of these results, following similar practices as the Citing FinnGen page.
