Expansion Area 3 (EA3) studies aim to acquire additional clinical data centered around specific diseases through biobanks.
Aim: The HPV-related gynecological lesions deep phenotyping study aimed to investigate the genetic background of HPV-related high-grade gynecological lesions by comparing these phenotypes to those with clarified gynecological HPV-infection, and to explore the genetic associations with immunosuppressive or autoimmune conditions with respect to HPV-related gynecological lesions. HPV-related gynecological lesions was selected as an EA3 study trait due to limited knowledge on the genetic risk factors to persistent high-risk HPV infection and HPV-related disease. More information on differences in the genetic background of different HPV-related gynecological lesions could help in estimating the individual-level lifetime risks of HPV-related gynecological cancers and used in directing the screening and treatments more accurately
Methods: Data was captured from six biobanks: Auria, Helsinki, Tampere, Central Finland, Borealis, and Eastern Finland biobanks. Database searches were done for pap test result, the Bethesda-classification, hrHPV test result, and hrHPV type.
Data: The HPV-related gynecological lesions data has been placed in the Sandbox and is available for analysis. The HPV-related gynecological lesions samples are from DF12 and data has been collected from 5/6 hospital biobanks. Data collection time is until 22.2.2023.
