EA3 study: Oncology –Prostate cancer study and data in Sandbox

Expansion Area 3 (EA3) studies aim to acquire additional clinical data centered around specific diseases through biobanks.

Aim: The oncology deep phenotyping studies of three cancer groups (breast cancer, ovarian cancer, prostate cancer) aimed to utilize electronic health record data of these cancer patients to better characterize the histology of these cancers, high-risk genetic variants and relevant biomarkers for disease progression, and utilize this data for genetic analysis of the three cancer groups.

Methods: Data was captured at four biobanks: Helsinki, Borealis, Central Finland and Eastern Finland biobanks. Database searches were done for structural pathology data: pTNM, Gleason score, and surgical margin. In addition, laboratory database searches were done for PSA values.

Data: The prostate cancer data has been placed in the Sandbox and is available for analysis. The prostate cancer samples are from DF12 and the data has been collected from 3/6 hospital biobanks.
